Food Distribution in Hyderabad

Unfortunately, there are no signs of improvement in the current covid crisis in India. Thanks to great solidarity with the people in India, Usthi has already been able to support families with emergency relief. A short video shows the distribution of food packages in early May 2021.

Since the first call for donations by Usthi, we have received donations of almost 24,000 Swiss francs for the covid emergency relief in India. This means that we have already reached almost half of our donation target. In the next few days, small teams of employees from our partner organisation and volunteers will hand out further packages to families in urgent need.

Together with the local partner organisation, Usthi has produced a short video of the emergency relief operation. It shows the distribution of food parcels in Hyderabad in early May 2021.

We are only able to carry out this emergency relief campaign thanks to the solidarity and generosity of our donors. Usthi is extremely grateful to be able to count on this support.

Usthi hopes for further donations to support the people close to the Usthi projects in this emergency situation. The local partner organisations are doing an extraordinary job to help the people in the current situation and to ensure the continuation of the long-term Usthi projects.

According to a newly published report, the World Bank estimates that up to 56 million people in India […]
